Your first love.

Psalm 25:4-5
4 Show me Your ways, O LORD;
Teach me Your paths.
5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me,
For You are the God of my salvation;
On You I wait all the day.

Something dawned on me while I was ice-skating a few days back.
I realised how our walk with God was akin to ice-skating.

When you first get into the skating-rink, the ice is all smooth and flat, that's where it's so smooth-sailing. We could skate around freely and easily. No falls, no injuries.
-When we first get to know God, that starting euphoria, that wondrous feeling, the mighty love you feel from Him, overcomes anything and everything. That first love we experience.

As you continue to skate, the ice becomes less and less smooth. Mainly caused by every skater's skate blades. Going round and round in that little rink. The ice begins to have an uneven gradient to it. It feels like skating on millions of minuscule hills. A little invisible to the eye, but when you skate, you can feel it beneath your feet. It gets hard to skate, and if you are not a real professional, you will begin falling. Like I did. The number of falls increase as we continue skating.
-We start to experience tribulations, various trials in our walk with Him. Numerous stuffs: test of our faith, of our heart, of our commitment, of our choices. Of everything. They set to unwind you. To see if you will bend and break.

So we continue falling. Choices arise. Continue skating? Practise and practise and learn how to skate better? Until we are really good at it? Until we learn new stuffs and do those fanciful stuffs that figure-skaters perform? Or alternatively, we could give up? Stop experiencing those falls and walk out of the rink? Stop picking ourselves up? Stop learning?
-What do we do? Overcome our tribulations and walk stronger with Him than ever, or give up, be stagnant, go backwards and stop walking altogether? Feel Him all over again, reignite that fire, consider it all joy when you fall into various trials? Or despair in that downward spiral of depression and never pull yourself up?

Decided that nothing and noone shall affect this relationship with Him.
Nothing is worth more than being with Him.

Luke 12:
51 Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.
52 For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three.
53 Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

Real test of faith and character yesterday at the reunion dinner. But I believe one day they will feel it. Amen.

-Dreams are kinda stagnant these couple of weeks. Need change! Need a fresh start and breakthroughs! Major changes to the list. Firstly, salvation of my loved ones at the top. Its hard, but nothing is impossible. Updating the list soon.
